Growth

Our INNER GLOW Conference was a day filled with inspiration, fun, and growth! Designed for girls ages 12-18, this in-person event helped to bring out their inner glow and unleash their full potential.

The girls were with like-minded individuals, attended engaging workshops, and heard from content leaders. Our GLOW PARTY was an unforgettable time!

CONGRATULATIONS to Glowing Girls' Founder and CEO, Kimberly Tibbs for receiving the ICCM Educator Award in
Chattanooga, TN!

Thank you for leading with such love and light. You have been a positive influence in the lives of GGI and we are truly grateful for your hard work and dedication!

What We Do

Glowing Girls Inc. Atlanta (GGI) has served young women in the metro Atlanta area for more than eight years. With a vision to make a positive difference in the lives of young women, founder Kimberly Tibbs set out to educate, empower, and prepare them for their future. Research revealed that low self-esteem within the age group of 12 – 18-year-old African American females produced higher teen pregnancies and increased suicides. To remedy this, Tibbs uses skills she acquired from seventeen years of teaching, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a passion for helping girls grow and develop to organize programs, write curricula and recruit a volunteer base to address these issues.

Annual conferences have seen hundreds of young ladies trained, inspired, and motivated to believe in and walk out their destinies. Girls experience insights to support strong self-esteem, gain awareness, and are introduced to relatable topics that stimulate conversation. To be genuine and honest is a recurring theme of these sessions.

Glowing Girls has established chapters in Villa Rica, Rome, and Atlanta, Georgia. Every 30 days, girls from various backgrounds and faiths are celebrated, taught, and trained. Within these sessions, the legacy and spirit of each girl are developed, creating worth, scholarship, and goodwill.

GGI has written and implemented a curriculum that embodies the six key characteristics of a Glowing Girl. The six characteristics are Confidence, Being Positive, Being Passionate, Being Respectful, Honesty, and Lovely. Each session is geared toward educating and motivating young women to be the best they can be and recognize their potential and value. The sessions are taught with creativity, interactive activities, media, and using art. These six characteristics are embedded as guiding principles to shape the program's desired outcome.

Our goal is to expand GGI into the city of Atlanta continuing our service to young ladies in the foster care community.
